Students record the history and physical examination on a limited number of patients under close supervision.  Attending rounds are conducted regularly by faculty for students and house staff.  These rounds are oriented toward the problems and care of ward patients.  Students will also attend General Medicine Ambulatory Clinic.  The students are expected to examine patients for a thorough History and Physical which they will present to the attending physician.  The students will formulate and discuss a plan of care for each patient problem.  They will review medications on a patient and discuss with the attending physician.  A special emphasis will be placed on teaching communication  skills, humanism, and medication cost and compliance.
